Founded in 1694 thanks to the bequest of the abbé Jean-Baptiste Boisot, it is the oldest public museum in France, predating the Louvre by a century. Set in the former grain hall by Pierre Marnotte, it was refitted from 1967 to 1970 by Louis Miquel, a pupil of Le Corbusier, and then entirely renovated in 2018.
