Roanne's municipal museum, opened in 1844 thanks to the archaeologist Fleury Mulsant, it bears the name of Joseph Déchelette, curator from 1892 and a major figure in archaeology, who bequeathed it his collections. It has occupied his family's mansion since 1923 and displays regional archaeology, fine art and earthenware.
