Museum born in 1791 from the collection of François-de-Paule Latapie, added to in 1804 by that of the shipowner Bernard Journu-Auber. Housed since 1862 in the Hôtel de Lisleferme, an 18th-century mansion bordering the Jardin Public, it reopened in 2019 after ten years of renovation.
