Museum designed by Jean Nouvel and opened in 2003 above the Domus of Vesunna, a wealthy 1st-century town house excavated from 1959 onward and listed as a historic monument in 1963. Beneath a vast glass canopy can be seen its painted wall coverings, kitchen, private baths and garden with an ornamental pool.
