The former apartment of the literary scholar Mario Praz (1896–1982), founder of the chair of English literature at Rome's Sapienza University, on the third floor of Palazzo Primoli on Via Zanardelli. The Italian state acquired his collection of more than 1,000 Neoclassical and Biedermeier decorative objects, furniture, and paintings in 1986, and the museum opened to the public in 1995 with the rooms arranged as Praz himself had kept them.
