National archaeological museum opened in 1996 in Arcevia's former Franciscan convent, whose church of San Francesco was built in 1275 and remodelled in Baroque style in 1750. The collection ranges from Palaeolithic flint tools found at Ponte di Pietra to Gallic burial assemblages from the Montefortino necropolis.
