National archaeological museum opened in 1935 in Palazzo Costabili to house finds from Spina, the Etruscan port city that flourished from the 6th to the 3rd century BC and yielded more than 4,000 excavated tombs. The collection includes Athenian red-figure pottery, Etruscan bronzes and gold, silver and amber jewellery.
