National archaeological museum opened in 2000 following the 1982 discovery of a Roman amphitheatre, designed by architect Ettore De Lellis as a partly underground structure integrated with the La Civitella archaeological park. Tracing its origins to the 1938 Antiquarium Teatinum, it presents finds from ancient Teate and the Marrucini people alongside material from the wider Pescara valley spanning prehistory to the Middle Ages.
