Archaeological park protecting part of the urban area and the Crucinia necropolis of ancient Metapontum, an Achaean Greek colony founded on the Ionian coast of Basilicata in the second half of the 7th century BC at Sybaris's initiative. The philosopher Pythagoras is said to have settled and taught in the city after leaving Croton. The park preserves traces of the ancient street grid and houses, alongside burials from one of the city's cemetery areas.
