Baroque palace in central Turin designed by Guarino Guarini and built in 1679-1685 as the residence of the Princes of Carignano, part of the UNESCO-listed Residences of the Royal House of Savoy. Birthplace of King Victor Emmanuel II, it housed the Subalpine Chamber of Deputies from 1848 and the first Italian Parliament from 1861, and today its piano nobile hosts the Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento Italiano.
