Palace rebuilt for Louis XV and Louis XVI by Ange-Jacques Gabriel from 1751 onward, later refurnished by Napoleon I and became Napoleon III's favourite residence. It brings together the historic apartments, the Museum of the Second Empire, the Museum of the Empress, and the National Carriage Museum, created in 1927.
