Memorial set up in three buildings of the former Royallieu barracks, which the German occupiers turned into an internment and transit camp, Frontstalag 122, from June 1941 to August 1944. More than 54,000 people were interned there — Resistance fighters, Jews, Roma, hostages and foreigners — before being deported; the memorial was inaugurated in February 2008.
