Founded in 1984 in a wing of the Fine Arts Museum, the macLYON moved in 1995 to the Cité Internationale, into a building by Renzo Piano that preserves the façade of the former Palais de la Foire. Its fully modular spaces host the city's contemporary collection and the Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art.
