Opened on 30 May 2014 in the birthplace of Pierre Soulages, it occupies a building of five weathering-steel volumes designed by the Catalan agency RCR Arquitectes. It holds around five hundred works given by the artist and his wife Colette, including the cartoons for the stained-glass windows of the Conques abbey church.
