Ruins of Ferentium, an Etruscan and later Roman town near Viterbo that flourished as a municipium in the early imperial period and was the birthplace of Emperor Otho, before being destroyed by nearby Viterbo in 1172. The site preserves a well-excavated Roman theatre still used for summer performances, along with the remains of a forum, baths, and an amphitheatre.
