Archaeological area of Libarna, a town of the Ligurian Dectunini that came under Roman control in 191 BC and grew after the opening of the Via Postumia in 148 BC, reaching its peak as a colony in the 1st century AD before being abandoned in 452 following barbarian invasions. Excavations begun in 1820 have uncovered a 60x65-metre amphitheatre, a theatre, the forum with its porticoes, baths and residential quarters, with major finds such as mosaics and bronzes now held in Turin's Museum of Antiquities.
