Museum occupying the upper floors of the Orsanmichele loggia in Florence, a former grain market converted into a church whose exterior niches were filled from the 14th century with statues commissioned by the city's guilds. Opened in 1996 to house the original sculptures once the weathered originals outside were replaced by copies, it displays works including Ghiberti's Saint John the Baptist (1412-1416), Donatello's Saint Mark (1411-1413) and Verrocchio's Incredulity of Saint Thomas (1467-1483).
