National archaeological museum established in 1981 from the town's Civic Archaeological Collection, housed in the 16th-century Palazzo Panichi. It documents the Piceni culture of the Tronto, Tesino and Salino valleys through to the Roman period, with a mosaic showing a double-faced herm and a portrait of Trajan among its Roman holdings.
