State museum created in 2016 by consolidating six former national museums, spanning art, ethnology, anthropology and paleontology from prehistory to the present. It occupies two rationalist buildings in Rome's EUR district, designed for the Universal Exposition planned for 1942 but never held, housing African, American, Asian and Oceanic collections alongside early medieval and colonial-era material.
