Museum in Isernia dedicated to the Paleolithic site of La Pineta, discovered in 1979 during highway works and dated to around 600,000-700,000 years ago, among the oldest evidence of human presence in Europe. The site preserved a butchering ground littered with animal bones and stone tools, now presented alongside the excavation itself.
