Augustan-age funerary tower along the Appian Way at Formia, traditionally known as the Tomb of Cicero, who was killed near the town in 43 BCE on the orders of Mark Antony after mentioning his villa there, the Formianum, in his letters. The attribution to the orator is a long-standing local tradition rather than an established fact, since no inscription or archaeological evidence confirms it.
