Renaissance palace near Santa Maria Formosa in Venice, remodeled from the 1530s to the 1560s for the Procurator Vettore Grimani and the Patriarch Giovanni Grimani, with a monumental staircase frescoed by Federico Zuccari and rooms decorated by Francesco Salviati, Giovanni da Udine, and Camillo Mantovano. Giovanni Grimani's antiquities collection, once displayed in the palace's Tribuna, passed to the Republic of Venice in 1587 and formed the core of the city's Archaeological Museum; the state acquired the palace in 1981 and reopened it as a museum in 2008.
