Medici villa built from 1485 for Lorenzo the Magnificent to a design by architect Giuliano da Sangallo, considered the prototype of the Renaissance villa with its raised loggia and temple-like portico. Its salon preserves frescoes by Andrea del Sarto, Pontormo and Franciabigio celebrating the Medici family, and the villa was inscribed with Florence's other Medici residences and gardens on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2013.
