Grand villa on the Brenta canal near Venice, built from 1721 for the Pisani family to designs by Gerolamo Frigimelica and Francesco Maria Preti and eventually comprising more than a hundred rooms. Purchased by Napoleon in 1807 and given to his stepson Eugène de Beauharnais, it later became an Austrian imperial residence; its ballroom ceiling bears Giambattista Tiepolo's 1761 fresco 'Apotheosis of the Pisani Family', and its park contains a celebrated boxwood maze.
